i have found a Java City coffee-shop on campus! it might not mean much to others, but it does to me. Because Miami is many things, but not exactly a city of gorgeous independent coffee-shops. for example, the only respectable coffee-shops on campus are all run by Starbucks. and, i don't want to give them a single dollar, until and unless I absolutely have to. then, i found this little coffee-shop inside the Business School building. quite accidentally. so, this week, between my two classes, i buy a small cup of coffee, and do the last minute class prep sitting outside the Business School building, sipping on my coffee.
and that additional cup of coffee has been keeping me alive. this week was especially stressful. apart from the usual teaching, i gave a little presentation for my program's Exile Studies program. i also had another deadline. and, i am way behind on another. so, that additional cup of coffee meant a lot to me.
but, amongst all of this madness, i learnt one thing -- i cannot give up writing. this is how i process the world. and this is who i am.
there are a lot of other things that i need to process. things that happened this week, and things that made me think about, reflect on my writing. i am hoping, it would happen. slowly. over the weekend.
